Web Application
605 DR1VE is a tablet-web application developed by 605.tv, a next-generation measurement and attribution company. The platform uses anonymized, aggregated subscriber viewing data and third-party consumer insights to help advertisers create and optimize media plans in real time. This data-driven approach empowers advertisers to reach their ideal audience with unmatched precision, making 605 DR1VE a critical tool in the modern ad tech landscape.
The Ask
As a Visual Designer, my primary responsibility was to implement new features and functionality within the 605 DR1VE platform. This included enhancing the user interface, integrating new data visualization tools, and improving overall usability to align with the evolving needs of advertisers. Given the rapid growth in data complexity and user demands, I also recognized that the application had outgrown its original design, prompting my recommendation for a complete redesign to better support future scalability and innovation.
The Design
My design approach focused on transforming complex advertising analytics into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
This included:
Crafting visually engaging dashboards for rapid data analysis.
Implementing interactive elements to enhance the user experience.
Refining design systems for better brand consistency and quicker development cycles.
Prototyping and iterating on UI components to improve usability and accessibility.
the development
I collaborated closely with the onsite development and QA teams to ensure that design elements translated seamlessly into code. This involved:
Providing detailed design specifications and style guides.
Conducting design reviews to address technical constraints and optimize performance.
Working through iterations to refine functionality and resolve usability issues.
Supporting the QA process to validate the final product against design standards.
the takeaway
This project allowed me to blend technical design skills with data visualization, creating tools that empower advertisers to make more informed decisions. It also highlighted the importance of proactive design thinking, as my recommendation for a full redesign reflected a forward-looking approach to product evolution.
