CHALLENGE
Jules Angelina, a distinctive author, needed a website that embodied the emotional depth of her writing while making it easy for fans to explore and purchase her books. The existing site was outdated and lacked cohesive branding, which made it difficult for readers to connect with her work. The goal was to create a digital experience that felt as immersive and evocative as her stories, streamlined the buying process, and showcased her author brand.
Design
A visual identity inspired by her book covers was developed to align branding across all touchpoints. In Figma, layouts were crafted with immersive imagery, expressive typography, and a moody color palette to reflect the tone of her writing. Thoughtful attention was given to visual storytelling, creating a refined, emotionally resonant environment where each design choice mirrored her narrative voice.
development
The site was implemented in Framer, with tight integration between design and functionality to preserve visual intent. A developer was brought in to handle the mobile navigation and CAPTCHA integration, while the component-based design system, asset preparation, and deployment were managed directly. This ensured that every visual element and interaction felt intentional and true to the brand.
takeaway
This project underscored how design can deepen connection—by aligning visuals with emotional tone, the website became a reader-first destination that embodied the author’s voice. It reinforced that exceptional UX/UI isn’t just aesthetic—it’s about amplifying the creator’s essence and giving their story the digital presence it deserves.
