Trumbull Animal Group
Pro bono redesign for a Connecticut nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming pets. The responsive site features warm visuals, accessible navigation, and donation-focused interfaces, helping the organization connect with the community and support its mission.
CHALLENGE
Trumbull Animal Group, a Connecticut nonprofit, had an outdated website and branding that no longer reflected the warmth and professionalism of their mission. The site was difficult to navigate, visually inconsistent, and lacked engaging content to encourage adoptions and community involvement. Their logo also felt dated but the team preferred not to make major changes, so the challenge was to modernize their digital identity while preserving brand familiarity and trust.
design
The design focused on creating a user-friendly, emotionally resonant experience. The original logo was carefully recreated in vector format, keeping its recognizable character while making it sharper and scalable. A clean palette of warm, earthy tones was paired with legible fonts to improve readability and create a welcoming feel. Lifestyle imagery was introduced to highlight the joy of pet adoption, and I guided the client on best practices for photography to maintain visual consistency. Content was reorganized to improve clarity, ensuring adoptable pets and community events were easy to find and explore.
DEVELOPMENT
The site was built in Framer with performance and usability in mind. Two CMS collections were created: one for adoptable pets and one for news and event posts, allowing the nonprofit to update content easily without technical knowledge. A basic contact form was added to streamline communication, and fundamental SEO best practices were implemented, including descriptive alt text and proper tagging. Together, these updates gave the organization a flexible, modern platform that can grow with their needs.
TAKEAWAY
This pro bono project highlighted how even modest design and development updates can dramatically improve a nonprofit’s reach and impact. By modernizing the brand while respecting its history, the site now conveys warmth, trust, and professionalism. The new platform empowers Trumbull Animal Group to showcase adoptable pets, share community events, and connect more effectively with supporters—helping them advance their mission of rescuing and rehoming animals.
